Empire State Building

20 W 34th St, New York, NY 10001

Built at a cost of $41m at the time it would have cost closer to $560m today to build the 102 floor skyscraper. It was originally planned to be a smaller building but extra floors were added to make it taller than the Chrysler building which was already under construction at the time. The initial plans including an aircraft docking station at the top.

The main observation deck is on the 86th floor with both inside and outside sections. For an additional free, visitors can access an additional deck on the 102nd floor. The interior of the building is decorated in an art deco style reflective of the time it was constructed.
